Do you feel overwhelmed by COVID-19 and the shelter-in-place? Are your children having a hard time? Are you trying to work and entertain your kids at the same time? Do you need some support? This is a stressful time for many families, and JFCS East Bay is here to help relieve some of that burden. We are now offering both group and individual parenting support, free of charge.
Zoom Support Group
JFCS East Bay is now holding a drop-in Zoom Parenting Support Group on Mondays from 10 to 11am to provide parents with a safe space to receive support during the shelter-in-place. During the group, parents can share their experiences, including any challenges they might be facing with homeschooling, planning for the summer, or supporting their children’s needs. Additionally, parents can ask questions about child development, as well as coping and stress management skills. We can work on developing a self-care plan, share concerns around resources (for example, income and food), and develop ideas for child-focused activities that can be done in the home. We look forward to building this community with you as we support each other during these challenging times. The group will be facilitated by JFCS East Bay Early Childhood Specialist Nicole Reinosa, PsyD. Individual Support
JFCS East Bay can also support parents who want individualized assistance with parenting concerns during the shelter-in-place. These are trying times for children and parents alike. We can help you with finding parenting resources, dealing with challenging behavior, understanding child development, developing appropriate coping strategies, and focusing on self-care.
