Bereavement Support Group

This group offers heartfelt support and guidance for relatives and friends who have suffered the loss of a loved one. We address feelings of loneliness, loss, and isolation; coping with anger and other unexpected emotions; learning how to live with grief; and how to move forward. We also cover changing family dynamics, reestablishing community connections, facing financial changes, and addressing estate or other financial decisions. Registration required.

Café Europa

Café Europa provides a special meeting place for Holocaust survivors, their family members, and their friends. These unique gatherings feature social activities, speakers, musical programs, and refreshments. (Funded in part by the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany, Inc.)

Caregiver Support Group

Providing care for an elderly friend or family member can be all-engrossing and stressful. In this twice-monthly group, participants support each other while learning how to care for themselves, manage stress, establish realistic goals and expectations, and find assistance in the community. The group is facilitated by Nancy Rothschild, the former coordinator for the City of Fremont’s Family Caregiver Support Program.

Long-Distance Family Caregiver Support Group

First and third Wednesdays of the month
5:00 to 6:30 pm

If you are an adult caring for older parents who live out of staff, join this group to discuss the difficulties and unique challenges of your situation. The group addresses issues such as choosing caregivers, finding housing placements, family conflict, dementia, depression, geriatric disabilities, serious medical problems, and more. Registration required.
