Like many of you, our hearts and thoughts are turned toward our neighbors in Sonoma and Napa counties. We have a few suggestions for how you can reach out and help, as well as prepare yourselves in the event of a local emergency.
- Donate to the Jewish Federation of the East Bay’s North Bay Wildfire Emergency Fund.
- Donate locally to the Redwood Credit Union’s Community Fund.
- Donate to the Redwood Empire Food Bank.
- Donate to support affected undocumented immigrants through the California Immigrant Youth Justice Alliance.
- Check out donation needs and volunteer opportunities on this locally developed list.
- Volunteer at or bring toiletries, blankets, and clothing to East Bay facilities that are sheltering seniors evacuated from the burn zones: St. Paul’s Towers in Oakland, Belmont Village in Albany, Brookdale Danville Diablo Road in Danville, and Oakmont of Montecito in Concord.
- Prepare your own Go Bag so you’ll be ready to evacuate if ever necessary.
