In parents’ busy lives with children, family, work outside the home, and other relationships, it’s easy for their needs to get put on the back burner. Self-care and fulfilling activities that contribute to making parents their best selves, can easily get pushed aside by other seemingly more important matters. This workshop will explore ways in which guilt and other negative projections for taking time for oneself can get in the way. Discussion will include strategies to support healthy boundaries, increased self-awareness, and realistic ways in which parents can build in time to care for themselves, which creates greater capacity for caring for others.
